it's way to soon to trade Hughes, or Smith.... GM's rarely do trades like this. maybe Quinn is a bust, maybe Smith is a bust. they bothe look good now but until they build and NHL resume don't expect either to be traded, regardless of where their family plays

No, it's not even close on the Hughes trade. Not sure why anyone thinks Vancouver does NJ a solid with a move like this. A deferred pick, a bottom six forward and a D man (albeit with nice potential) that no one in hockey thinks has the same ceiling as Hughes. All so NJ can ice the Hughes brothers (a nice marketing tool for them) and improve their team. I have little doubt that at some point QH plays with his brothers, but it will be NJ buying (not Vancouver selling) at top dollar or QH leaving as a UFA. This trade proposal doesn't even move the needle.
