Quoting: KrispyBBQ
Believe it or not, some Blues fans were saying it was bad trade for us so that's why I thought I would include this trade in here. I mean Steel doesn't look like he will be anything great but just that potential factor is why I'd accept.
I read ducks fans post that Larsson is bad bad, but the dude is only 24 so i would think he can improve, right?
Even if the Ducks gave up on both of them, how does trading them both for a 31 year old 3rd pairing LHD when we have Lindholm, Fowler, Mahura, Guhle, Curran who can all play in the NHL next year help?
If the Ducks traded either of them it would be in similar deals to the Ritchie-Heinen deal, two young guys that could use a scenery change. Ducks are rebuilding, they would essentially give them away for nothing if Scandella was what comes back. We arent contending and wont be for the duration of the Scandella contract, all he would do is block our young guys that need ice time. There is no scenario where the Ducks win that trade, instant loss now and in the future for Anaheim.
Larsson 100% needs a change of scenery, Steel can still develop but more than likely is a 3C and even then the Ducks lose this trade. Both are far from lost causes at this point
