I dont like thompson much at all, what i do like is retention spots, as we may be holding money to facilitate trades before the deadline. So no, i wouldnt do it, just because im not wasting a retention spot. Also, if the return is that little we might as well see if he can figure out how to play hockey.

Gardiner is likely having another back surgery so will be LTIR fodder. I don’t think canes will be interested in no a nino Tara swap. Canes will want Nino as insurance on Tara in case he’s not healthy. That’s assuming trade happens in offseason before Tara showcases he’s healthy. Canes would likely offer picks and prospects. Understand if blues aren’t interested in futures for Tara but if that’s the case I don’t see a trade that makes sense.

Maybe. Why would canes do that tho unless more was coming back their way? Nino had a great year last year and is cheaper. Tara ceiling is much higher but huge risk with his shoulder and if he isn’t healthy they’re dead in the water. If it’s a swap would have to be at TDL imo
