Trading sieg doesnt make much sense if you're nj. they just got him and clearly see something in him. he also fits the age group. i also don't know that bahl is ready to play this season. also tatar was promised a top 6 role. doesn't make sense for nj to drop him to third line.

That Fabbri deal is a waste on this team. Also, I don't like the Timo deal for a few reasons, namely the $10m QO. He's essentially a UFA the next year without a total overpay.

Also, why bother getting Fabbri rather than putting Tatar on the 2nd line, and slotting Foote more so in the 3rd line? Foote has barely played at the NHL level and is not ahead of a guy like Sharangovich yet, not even to mention that Mercer is coming.

Also, it's been pretty much found Zacha is NOT a center...he's a LW now. He works there. Stop trying to make Zacha have to work at center.

You don't think neither Holtz or Mercer are on this team in the 22-23 season?

Don't like the trades or the Fabbri, Stecher signings.
We are better off keeping Johnsson and Siegenthaler.

And the Meier trade is a little rich for my blood, I would take out Kuokanen or Boqvist.

Lines should be (without trades):

1st: Zacha -- Hischier -- Bratt
2nd: Tatar -- Hughes -- Sharangovich
3rd: Mix of Kuokkanen, Boqvist, Foote, Johnsson, Clarke and Holtz
4th: Wood -- McLeod -- [one of 3rd names]

Graves -- Hamilton
Siegenthaler or UFA -- Severson
Bahl -- Smith

Mercer for SURE has to be in that mix over Clarke or Foote, but Mercer can play 4th line minutes and not be wasted and be the next Blake Coleman, but better.

Big jump from Q to NHL...Mercer will likely start year in AHL.
Clarke has been mentioned often by Fitzy has someone who will get a look (same way he mentioned Bastian often the previous off-season).

NJ finally has a decent defense with depth and now everyone wants to trade it away. I guess we’re so used to having a poor defense after the past couple years we don’t want to have a good one ever again

Remember this is 2022-23.....so Mercer could have a full year of AHL already
