Their LD is already one of the best in the league with Werenski and Gavrikov. No need for Rielly.

Yeah we don’t need another overpaid left shot defenseman. We need future firsts and top 6 centers

How trades work - usually you need to understand the other team's perspective to make sure the trade makes sense for them..

Kerfoot is a fine player and the value here isn't bad. The problem is, Canes just re-signed Marty and while he's very replaceable on the ice, they brought him back for his locker room and off-ice contributions as a leader. This is especially important with the TDA signing and some of the other pieces that have left in the offseason (Dougie, McGinn, Foegele). Additionally, Kerfoot doesn't really plug a hole that the Canes have. They're looking for a top 6 winger.

As such - Canes don't do this trade.

It's also probably worth pointing out that Max Domi's perceived value around the league is probably a negative otherwise the Kraken would have taken him in expansion instead of punting away their pick from CBJ. CBJ has minimal interest in Rielly as explained above and even then the return probably isn't enough so both teams decline.

CBJ aren’t paying Werenski $9.58M to be a second pairing D-man.

All told, neither of these trades work.

Rielly may actually leave TO and not because he wants too much money but because the majority of leaf fans crap on him daily. He's a world class defenceman and one of the best transition defenceman on the game. Let's trade him and a great depth defenceman along with 2 other picks for a lousy middle 6 player who doesn't show up have the time and a 1st. Sure it would leave an absolute massive hole on the blueline but we get a Domi out of it. Just absolutely stupid.

Once again, you don’t know how trades work. If you make a trade, think about the other teams needs and not what you just want to dump on them and get stuff back. CBJ needs center depth. They are set on defends and are already good in they position. Why do they need another LD in Reilly getting way overpayed?

At this point, you can’t even take this account seriously. All you got to do is look at this persons other ACGMs which show you how much of a joke this person is. Not a single good ACGM. Never thinks about what other teams needs
