quantity of depth I think at the expense of Krejci

Description
I like the Haula signing but he hasn't been the same since that magical 29 goal season with Vegas. I don't think Haula and Coyle combined will be able to replace Krejci. I think if Krejci stayed and his scoring rate wasn't a drastic drop, he would probably get 10-15 goals and 45-50 assists in a full 82 game schedule barring any injury for around 55-65 points. Coyle and Haula together could reach 60 points between the two of them, but the second line will be weaker and Hall and Smith would likely score less points. Coyle has to score at a 45-50 point pace or else his contract will be a total dud. However I have low expectations for Coyle even though last season he was playing injured and of course had a down year. I expect 30 points from Coyle and Haula each. The Nick Foligno signing is baffling. I wouldn't say he's washed, but I wouldn't pay him nearly 4 million per year. The offence hasn't been there for a while. Nosek is a good 4C, but do you pay your 4C 1.75 million?

Haula is terrible defensively, but he can chip in 15g 30 pts and win more faceoffs than he loses from the 3rd line and play all 3 FW slots.

Coyle is the wild card. Get the Coyle from the playoffs 2 years ago, they’ll be fine. If not, trouble.

But i don’t think they are done. Despite the posturing. The still have been pursuing Dvorak, Eichel, 3 way trade to facilitate Eichel elswhere. Would not be surprised if Hertl pops up in rumors. The Stromes.

We’ll see. I’d like to see what Studnicka could do with a full time gig as well.

I've admired the Bruins how they have been a good to very good team for years. Especially difficult to manage the cap effectively for such a long period.
IMO Foligno and Smith at 6.9m seems to be overpay for two guys who look to be declining. And 5.25m Coyle, can he effective for five years?
Bruins look more mediocre at least on paper than what I seen in years.

Even Coyle from 2yr ago was only playing at a 43pt pace and that was his 3rd best season from a P/GP standpoint. That's simply not to the level of a 2C and Hall is going to have to elevate his game to get Coyle to a 55pt center (which is about what an average 2C does for production).

Smith just had the 3rd highest P/GP of his career, so not sure I'd he's a guy who looks like he's declining.

Which is why i said playoff Coyle from 2 years ago when he had 16 in 24. .75 ppg is perfectly fine from C2. Doubt he could ever do that over a full season though, even healthy with better line mates, I don’t think he’s that guy. He’s a 2nd line RW or 3rd line C. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ya I don't expect Coyle to put up big numbers, but if he sticks on L2 the he should see an increase over his career average.

What Sweeneys has done this summer is one of the reasons I really am kind of fed up with him. Pretty much every year its been these plug and pray type of moves. Stempniak, JML, Tommy Wingels (im probably missing more lol) and then the grand finale of signing 3rd line wingers and 3rd pair dmen this summer. And I understand that theres things that can limit what a GM can really do. Cap space, impending RFAs/UFAs, ect. but the ONE year where Sweeney made some bigger moves (Coyle and Johansson), we make a deep cup run. Yeah we had some help from CBJ and the Canes knocking out Caps and Bolts but the aggressiveness was there. We traded the "highly touted" Ryan Donato. I remember how mad fans were when we traded him. Just like they'd be mad if we traded Studnicka or Urho away. This team has always seemed to be missing that one piece to tie it all together. This year a little different with Rask out long term and Krejci leaving. But its clear that Sweeney and co. didnt have a back up plan for Krejci, the Ullmark signing imo is ballsy as all hell. Complete wild card. Im not a fan of Haula or Folingo (tho I'm sure I'll change my tune a bit on Folingo, just because he seems like a solid hockey player and would fit the Bruins culture well). I very much dislike Mike Reilly, think he's a liability defensively and that Mac and Grizz can handle the offensive production on the back end. I do like Nosek and Forbort. Forbort seems like a solid replacement for Kevan Miller on the back end. Similar player, may not be as tough as Miller but he should be sufficient on the 3rd pair d. The only thing I can say thats positive about this summer is they did add size. Everyone they added/resigned is over 6 feet, minus Hall. But overall I dont think they got better. At best they remained stagnant and I realistically cant even agree that they are the same team as last year with Rask and Krejci not being back. Its going to be an interesting year, I think as of now they're a wild card team.
