Alright this is crazy and based purely off late night energy drinks and optimism. Picture this: Coyle sticks at 2C, due in large part to Smith's high shot volume and Hall's career shooting percentage. DeBrusk has a solid bounce back year, I'm talking 18- 22 goals on the 3rd line and PP2. Several injuries occur throughout the year, nothing serious but enough to let Cassidy play with some lineup changes and Vaak and Zboril both get some looks and do reasonably well (enough to prove trade value). Meanwhile, Lysell is tearing it up in Providence, he looks like a godsend. Mid season callup around 3 weeks before the TDL, and he get off to a hot start. Sweeney looks at this kid and says "wow, I can really draft people, this kid was a steal, I'm a mid 1st round whisperer!" So he decides to capitalize and on DeBrusk's value and get Lysell into the lineup so he moves him to a team struggling for a playoff spot in need of middle 6 scoring, netting another pick in the 1st round while also getting a depth shutdown D who can take some of the load off McAvoy in crunch time so Chucky can get more offensive zone face-offs in the end of close games. The Bs finish 2nd in the division, can roll 4 convincing lines, sweep their first round opponent, look vulnerable in the 2nd round against a much worse team, roll momentum into the ECF and win in 7, what do we think?
(I also have a 4th line hot take that Lazar is the best center and line-driver they have so I think he'll eventually wind up back there permanently or at least swapping off with Nosek in match-up situations. Also Lemeiux for oomph)
(Also hot take: Swayman for Calder)
So getting Lemieux is a TD move is only happens if freddy doesnt pan out?
Quoting: Ragsandbluesfan
Lemieux isn't better than Frederic at all
It was more about getting Lazar to center the line. I'm sure they could move Nosek of Freddy to RW and see how they do but interesting how this is the deal yall focused on 🤣
Nobody does, but what you're really doing is downgrading a hopefully late 1st for what should be a mid-to-late 2nd. And for that you get Debrusk and Urho for Bortz. Now which gulf do you think is bigger? The distance between those two picks or the distance between those two player packages?

if its at the deadline both the bruins and the blues wont be selling imo
You kinda tapdanced right around the question there.
Sorta didnt mean to tho what i mean is the bruins wont be selling and the Blues wont be so i dont see how this makes sense but anything can happen i guess
