If we trade Hughes to NJ it starts with Smith, Holtz, and a 1st anything less and the Canucks hang up immediately

Ideally, sure. But I don't think we get it. If dumping Myers is a priority, then definitely no. If not, then Smith and Holtz for Hughes might be all we get. I think you have your Hope's too high if he does get traded

He's not getting traded lol which is why it has to be an overpayment and you don't trade your number one dman just to move Myers that's a terrible idea

And then the Devils hang up after Smith, Holtz AND... The Devils are fine with Smith. They shouldn't blow it on Quinn just bc he's the third brother. If he wants to come to NJD one day, he can come as a free agent. If Jack or Luke wasn't on the team, no one would even be considering this. That is unlike the idea of drafting Luke where it was not beyond any expectations that's the area Luke would go for many teams.

Hughes isn’t getting traded. Boeser gets like 7.5 which is fair. Bo most likely takes a team friendly deal for arohnd 6 because he is shown to be a real team player. Miller also probably takes in the 6 mil range. That’s only like an extra 2 million spent on those two players. Luongos recapture penalty is gone next season which covers for the buyouts. Canucks are fine for right now and trading their top defenceman is the exact opposite of what they should do….

I think it's a real possibility at this point. Myers dump + MacEwan and we should still get Smith and a first back. We will have to move him sooner or later

There is no chance that the Canucks would trade Hughes.....who reminds me of Bobby Orr the way he plays.......this is total nonsense.

Why would NJ trade that much for Quinn "43% xGF" Hughes? I don't see it, no him being related to Jack and Luke is not an acceptable answer lol

Devils pass but good job for not overvaluing Quinn Hughes. People don't realize how good and how much potential Ty Smith has. Smith is already better defensively than Quinn, which is what the Devils need opposed to another primarily offensive defensemen

He is still overvaluing him as that all comes with still having to take that awful Tyler Myers contract...

I agree but it's not as bad as Smith, Holtz, and a first which is straight laughable

Smith, Johnsson, 2nd is more likely return.
And if adding Myers…subtract Smith.

Will be interesting to see if VAN signs Hughes to bridge deal or long-term. If he really wants to come to NJ, I’d imagine he would want 3-4 year deal.

So you say you're better defensively than Quinn Hughes huh? How about a 4 year contract paying you $3M a year? OK OK OK OK!! Fine. 5 years at $4M a year, but that's final!!!

Based off what is being said he wants a long term deal the problem is the Canucks don't have the cap space to give both him and Pettersson a long term deal

Canucks don't have any reason to move Hughes either which is why I said it has to be an overpayment to even consider it
