You can safely assume Talbot will not be traded for the duration of his contract in Minnesota. Even if Kahkonen takes over the starter role this season, Talbot will be kept as the backup for two years.

Edmonton had talbot as a goalie and he failed horribly. He is famous for letting the first shot of the game in. Georgiev isnt really what they are looking for they need someone who can produce immediately. Korpisalo is not actually that good in fact worse than koskinen and very expensive to acquire. Jarry is still pretty unproven. Khudobin I have time for, he isnt a rental and has a cost controlled contract which is the bigger thing for 22-23.

Dobby or Georgiev are your best bets. Talbot's not available. Korpisalo and Jarry both require likely overpayments.

No you are so so wrong. Cam Talbot is geoing nowhere. Neither is Kaapo. Nice making up of reasoning. Wild don't have any other G ready so they aren't trading their #1 G on nice contract or 1b in Kaapo

Korpisalo would require an overpayment? He's a cap dump.

I guess paying *anything* for him would be an overpayment.

Probably the best option: run with the Smith-Koskinen tandem. Together they've allowed just 2.89 GAA over the past 2 years - good for 12th best in the NHL - while playing behind a below average defense. If it ain't broke...

Well according to Rishaug CBJ requires Koskinen+Samorukov+1st and Holland is contemplating it. That falls to an overpayment category if you ask me.

LOL, Columbus has nerve. I wouldn't trade Koskinen for Korpisalo 1-for-1.

The same Cam Talbot who started 73 games for the '17 Oilers, finished top 4 in Vezina voting and had a .919? Even his stats on the 16 Oilers were good, they just ran him into the ground that year. He's rebounded well in Calgary and Minnesota. He didn't fail horribly in Edmonton, he wasn't the problem.

That's not an "overpayment", that's "worst trade in history" level stuff.

Well you're alone with that opinion, but you have the right to do that. Both of them are meh, but only one of them is overpaid.

Well....he’s definitely available for the right price. It’s just that he’d cost far too much to ever make it worth it. Throw us Holloway and Koskinen and he’s all yours lol. Obviously kidding, but it would take a big overpay.

Koskinen has posted better stats than Korpisalo every season while playing behind a worse defense. If I'm alone with that opinion than everyone else is ****ing STUPID.

I mean it's obvious that one playoff run seriously upgraded people's view on Korpisalo, but calling everyone stupid because they disagree with you is very, very childish.

Everyone doesn't disagree with me, that's your take. And basing your judgement of a player on 1.5 good weeks is very, very childish.

You're the first guy I've seen on this site who prefers Koskinen over Korpisalo with that contract. And even the professional journalists disagree with the notion. No one (except you apparently) thinks CBJ has to pay to move Korpisalo, but literally everyone thinks EDM must pay to move Koskinen somewhere else.

If he was cheaper, the discussion would be different. But this is a business, and contracts matter, usually more than the actual performance does.

As per Rishaug Edmonton does not see a korpisalo trade as a viable option at this time... Seravali started the rumor but edmonton just asked what it would cost and it was too much.

Talbot let the first shot of the game in lots and had 2 bad seasons in a row his SV% got better in calgary but letting in an easy one every game he still did there too. It deflated the team right out of the gate.
