this imo is an overpayment and Buffalo fans still complain..basically5 1st round picks + 2 2nd round picks and 2 3rds.

THE FIRST ROUNDERS THING IS NOT A THING, STOP TRYING TO MAKE IT A THING. There is nothing the Sabres need less than LD. Shultz and Hags are pointless when Buffalo is tanking, so their value takes a hit and they definitely arent coming back. That many 1sts is unrealistic and its just throwing things in to say you gave Buffalo "4 fIrSt RoUnDeRs". McMicheal and a 22 1st is a decent start the rest is just nonsensical filler.

im not contradicting myself. 1 prospect would be 4th best in a position that only has 3 spots to plug in and the Sabres already have 2 of those spots filled long term with NHLers. You need to apply logic, that is the problem, not dumping more and more stuff into a trade

Let's take the worse case scenario and Washington wins the cup the next 3 years. The 3 firsts would still be equal to a 10 OA pick.
Schultz and Hagelin have the value of a 3rd each, so 2 thirds. I am presuming they are included to help with the cap. If Buffalo retained 50% of their salary, I am sure there are many teams who would want them.
McMichael on the other hand is the Jewel of this trade, and I will give the value of 2 first round picks.
Alexeyev is a very good LHD prospect who also has the value of a first round pick, unfortunately Buffalo has excellent depth at LHD, but I will still add in his value.
IMO Leason's value is difficult to place, let's agree to give him minimum value.
Then finally a 2nd and 3rd, both will be late in the round.
So what is my total four first round picks, 3 thirds, and a second and Leason who I do not know how to value. BTW, I said this is the worse case scenario.
Six picks, one top prospect, one very good prospect and some Sabre fans say no?
