I suspect they have a plan with Butcher to bring his value up and flip him at the deadline. Not sure why the Sabres add to any Eichel deal anyway, especially a useful player who is probably in their plans as he played for Granato before.

Chytil is a 3C and it would be stupid to trade Eichel for a dman they dont need.

i really think it would help to get a Dman. Power, Dahlin and Joki are great but you need a RHD to add with them who can complement one of Dahlin/Power with physicalness.

To address that they should be picking up a Vet. Thats also not something Im wanting to trade my franchise center for. Having a Defense that averages 22 years old sounds great on paper

Yeah like Lafrienere or Kakko. There isn’t a single piece in the proposed trade you go you know what he could be a star, it’s a lot of yeah he is solid, he is ok, and you think Strome is going to hang around for more than a year?

If you’re trading your best player an elite 1C, getting nothing that remotely even has elite potential it’s a fail. I mean you aren’t even getting a top 3 pick. But that’s my opinion.
