Monahan Trade is closely related to the Trocheck trade out of Florida who was also 26 at the time, Both Drouin and Monahan could use a change of scenery

Looking at the players involved, Trocheck got 3 prospects that were picked in the 2nd,4th, and 6th Round as well as Haula. L.Wallmark (4th RD) has only played 2 full seasons, this past year he didn't see much ice time and has since signed in the KHL for next year. C.Priske (6th RD) has been in the AHL Full time since becoming pro with not much upside as of now. E.Loustarienen (2nd RD) Played 44 Games this season talling 8pts, At 22 He still has decent potential to become a strong 3C aswell as a slight possibility at becoming a fringe 2C. E. Haula was a solid 3C option for nashville this past year and will continue to be for boston.

Poehling can drop into the flames bottom 6 with good potential as a solid 3C (Haula). Struble has been steadily consistent in the NCAA and I see his potential as a solid T4 guy.(Easily Values the 4th/6th RD) Drouin has alright potential but not much value right now with the unattractive Cap hit, this is where the 2nd Rd pick comes into play, the cap hit Drouin brings is settled more with the addition of this pick.

Broken down I see the trade as 2 2nd Round Value players along with drouin as t6 value and a 2nd RD Pick. Assuming Poehling is signed for less the 1 mil Calgary doesn't lose any of their existing cap and they are compensated for losing a strong 2C


Tell me what you think. Seems like alot but it also seems like its not enough. Moanahan is a weird valued player IMO
