I dont think dunn would fit there but i do like the other 2 options

Dunn plays a physical game and he’s solid defensively. I think he’d be a great fit

Kulak is only available if the habs are adding a better D. And judging by the market right now, I doubt that happens.

Dunn is very good defensively, I don’t care if you’ve watched him for years. He’s also great on the powerplay. The islanders are looking for an offensive defenseman, they just traded Leddy and they need to replace his skillset

What about Calvin De Haan in Chicago? Feel like he could be moved and his contract should fit. He isn’t great offensively but I don’t think he’s a liability either.

Otherwise I don’t hate Gardiner if he’s healthy but I do worry that he isn’t enough of an upgrade over Leddy to make taking him on for two years be worth our while for two seasons

Carolina will not move Gardiner. He needs back surgery, and it likely gonna end up on LTIR

Based on how it ended, there’s no way the habs bring back Gustafsson. Plus we already signed an offensive 7th D in Wideman. While you may be right about the habs not valuing Kulak completely at times, he’s a more complete D than any UFA out there, and the habs understand that.

Now if Montréal could land a top 4 D Kulak would be out the door right away, but none seem likely to be available until mid-season at least.

That could work I think. Hickey wouldn’t be bad as a 6/7 D if Chicago needed it
