When a first round player gets drafted, they no longer have the value of a first rounder unless they are a projected stud. A lot of teams will not trade away a first for a newly acquired first round selection..

Something like that. The value of the first round pick is the fact that the team get to pick a good player of their choice. Once a team already knows what the pick is, it’s not as desirable.
