Leafs 2022

Créé par: larter232
Équipe: 2021-22 Maple Leafs de Toronto
Date de création initiale: 31 juill. 2021
Publié: 31 juill. 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Alright the addition of Nick Ritchie makes it a little different from my last one.

But the idea is the same, the goal is to have 4 lines with a scoring top 6, a defensive 3rd line, and a puck moving 4th line.

Tell me what ya think. All the trades are with teams i think are either rebuilding or should be rebuilding based on the age of cores and the players on each which is why i think they would be more open to retaining cap on these players.

Each players contract ends after this year, so its no loss to the teams they are trading with.

I disagree i think they absolutly would trade those guys because they do not believe they can win with their current lineups. Trading away players on a 1 year deal is a very common occurance in the nhl. The blues know their linup isnt good enough to beat teams like Colorado or Vegas, which would in turn make 1 think they should rebuild using their solid pieces they have picked up.

Now the St Louis one i can see not working but i feel the return is more than good enough. Miky and Ivan played very similar roles over the last 2 years, and Miky has much higher offensive upside, if the goal is to lose games but still attract fans hes the perfect replacment. That with the good level prospects and a pick seem like it should get it over the hump.

As for arizona, i dont imagine anyone on that team will play for them for long, they are signing players simply to trade them at this point and 2 picks and a player when you do not care about cap space seems more than good enough of a return for a player they are not super invested in.

I would argue that the Blues can compete with Colorado and Vegas. Especially if Thomas and Kyrou take the next step. Colorado has fallen back a step imo and Vegas may regret moving on from Flower. The bigger threat in the west this upcoming year might be Dallas

Yeah the Blues ain’t doing that and they certainly aren’t retaining salary in the trade. Secondly the goal is to win games period. The team will be good enough to make the playoffs and then who knows what happens. Ilya had a good year two years ago and wasn’t very impressive last year. He reminds me of Zach Sanford on the Blues who nobody wants

Hey i will defer to the blues fans im not about to debate with the guys who know more than me. Most of my statements were made with the knowledge of how the blues last season went, and how they performed in the playoffs. i have no issue retracting that trade.

Stars are in the same situation. Plenty of depth forwards, not enough cap space. Value is fine but Stars aren’t a fit
