That absolutely gets MacKinnon and Kadri. Merely because of the contract certainty and pure value on the board. Kardi is pending UFA, MacK has what, 2 years left and then he is going to want 10

COL would immediately grab eichel (locked in for 5) for less of a package than that, and move forward as a franchise with Rantanen/Landeskog/Eichel/Lafreniere/Kravstov/Byram/Makar/Lundqvist half of which will be impactful on ELCs. You could grab 2 cups before you have to pay Byram/Lafreniere/Kravstov/Lundvist

You’re high. MacKinnon is at worst the 2nd best player in the NHL in his prime and as you pointed making $6.5 for the next 2 years. You have a package where not only you are trading him but their 2C and getting back 1 player who plays center and isn’t even really a top 6C and a bunch of unproven guys. Now you’re hypothesizing they then add a guy who makes nearly more then MacKinnon and Kadri combined and has a neck injury. Not only does Sakic say no, he laughs.

Once in franchise mode I did a challenge where I could only pick grinders or enforcers (fantasy draft)
