I don't mind taking a gamble on Eichel, but definitely not at that price.

Putting in Suzuki would make this trade useless. The reason the Habs trade for Eichel is to solidfy themselves at centre.

I think that's what it takes to get him. I honestly think the trade improves Montreal in a big way. If you like Suzuki you'll love Eichel. He's a bigger more skilled and more talented version of Suzuki.

If they get a legit franchise 1C they are strong in every other position.

Caufield would be playing on the 3rd line, Primeau would be in the AHL and the 2 1sts will be late ones. I don't see why not.

Habs are balls deep in Caufield. If they acquire Eichel they'd want to put Caufield to his wing to score those goals. Prior to Hoffman signing he was their only actual sniper.

Besides BUF would want a center. And after the Levi acquisition Primeau is fairly pointless at this point.

That's like when Toronto traded Rask cause they had Pogge.

More goalie prospects is better. Goalies are inconsistent.

They already have Luukkonen. They acquired Levi under the same rationale.

Certainly no team is taking 5.5m Drouin just because Habs want cap space. Gee, I wouldn't trade 10m Eichel for 1m Caulfied. That 9m difference can get you a very good player.

Zegras/Suzuki/Caufield/Drysdale/Kakko/Lafreniere.

Not happening. Never once have I seen these names been floated.

It will be a Krebs type or Kravtsov. You are not getting a bonafide elite player in the nhl today at entry level contracts in this deal. Buffalo will have to shelter a lot of risk just like Eichel is a huge risk for the team getting him.

Exactly we all know eichel is a superstar and that he cost a lot but with the surgery that he need and the mysteri begin it, NO GM are gonna put big money like he would be worth normaly and what the Sabre ask right now. People have to understand exactly what you said

Neither of this guy are gonna be in a trade for Jack….

Lol... the pieces I have in this trade are bearly worth Marner alone. He had the 4th most points out of any player in the entire NHL.

Eichel is a franchise C. Pesce isn't even the best D man on his team.

Habs fans keep saying Eichel is damaged goods but he was injured last season and was getting more points per game than anyone on your whole team. Imagine what he can do healthy.

Marner is dog**** in the playoffs
Who cares what he can do in the regular season
We don’t care what Eichel is if it means Suzuki or Caufield going the other way

That's fine. I'm just showing you guys what it takes. I'm tired of KK (bust) + 1st (nice piece) + Drouin (cap dump) for Eichel. It's not even remotely close.

Kotkaniemi is a bust because of what ? That he didn’t produce like a 3OA at 18-19-20 yo ?

I wouldn't give up a 1st for him and he was the 3rd OA pick.

Just asking, would you want Matthews+Marner+Robertson+Campbell for Danault since you need a shutdown centre?

How is KK a bust? He already has more playoff goals than Mitch Marner, who certainly isn't a bust.

Matthews is worth more than Suzuki + Caufield + Primeau.

You gotta pay for legit franchise 1Cs. I don't think you've seen Eichel play very much if you don't think this is a legit offer.

Danault is overpaid. Habs had the cap space but still didn't re-sign him.

He's averaging 29 points per 82 game season and he was drafted higher than Marner.

As a Sens fan I gotta thank you for gifting us Tkachuk.

Caufield's position next to Suzuki is his to lose. If he does lose it, he's better off getting more time in the AHL and coming back stronger.

This is at least reasonable, but I'd put conditions on the 1sts. Buffalo has legitimate concerns with regards to his surgery and there's at least a possibility we won't get the player we are paying for.
(I also think it should be the player's choice to get the surgery he wants.)
