As a Hawks fan, I'd love this

Why?

I like Pettersson a lot and I think Jarry in a tandem with Lank would be a good way to manage each of their workloads.

However, after doing some more looking, the trade would kinda screw us for next year when Dach, Strome, Kubalik and Lankinen need new contracts, I probably wouldn't be as crazy about it as previously thought

That was my biggest concern. Also, while I do like Lankinen as the Hawks goalie, I think the tandem of MAF and Lankinen solves that position, where it starts to creep back open as an area of question when it's Jarry. MP isn't bad. Not trying to suggest he is. I just think the Hawks can play CJones, Stillman, DeHaan and be just fine. Sjones and Murphy are holding down that 1st and 2nd pair anyway.

I mean I assume if we were to trade Fleury it would be because he wasn’t going to play for us, so I kinda interpreted this trade under that pretense.

Otherwise, yeah I see your point. Money is going to be an issue again now lol. However a Pettersson for De Haan swap, ignoring their contracts, I think is a win for the Hawks
