This particuliar scenario is contingent on Fleury retiring or no more than 40% of his cap hit being in CHI next year. Trading Samsonov is about cheaper goaltending and getting another A Level prospect to offer/keep in the system post Eichel trade. Figure Reichel is a steep price to improve from Lankinen to Samsonov, so lesser prospect, Protas, goes other way. He seem like a fine prospect tough so maybe now a late 3rd (or later pick) goes to WAS to balance further.

Big hurdle is Kuznetsov trade list, if he doesn't want to go to BUF, alternative could be Vegas for Smith and Stephenson who then go to BUF.

Other alternative if Caps doesn't want to trade Samsonov, and don't care about an additional A-Level prospect would be Shultz instead of Kempny. Would leave 3.57m to sign Samsonov and would also keep the D more balanced between left and right.
