Decent. Considering the circumstances. They didn’t have the cap space to do anything major. So the McGinn and Heinen signings were solid. They were going to lose 1 of McCann or Tanev anyway, so at least they got Hallander back who is going to compete for a spot this year on a cheap deal. The ERod signing was too much imo and there was no reason to bring Simon back. I have nothing against bringing ERod back, but anything more than league minimum was too much because he just takes a spot away from a younger player fighting for an opportunity.
The lack of free agent moves means they probably feel as though Poulin, Hallander, Legare, Angello, Lafferty, O’Conner will all be fighting for regular time jobs on the bottom 6. Which we will have to wait and see how that pans out. Angello was good in his limited time last year. Lafferty and o’conner were ok. Poulin, Hallander, and Legare time will tell.
