Put on your imagination caps boys this is gonna be interesting!

In my humble opinion, Ken Holland has ruined this team. They made some horrible signings and trades.

Were going to go back in time, about 2.5 weeks ago to july 11, and I will make an ACGM of what I wouldve done in Holland's place.

I would've let him go and found a younger, more long-term backup/1B

I honestly LOVE the idea of McDavid playing with Hyman on his LW. The term here is way too long especially with his injury history. Very few players, if any, are worth 5.5m in their late 30s.

I wouldve tried to sign Hyman to 3-5 years, 4 ideally, or not signed him at all.

Just no. I know personally how bad he is. He didn't do horribly this season in Pittsburgh, but NOWHERE NEAR good enough for this contract. I'd take him as a bottom pair dman, maybe at under 1.5m, but still try to steer clear of Ceci, hes a defensive liability.

A buddy of mine is Kenny's son-in-law. I tried to reason with him that he's totally lost it and is not even a top-25 GM in the league... needless to say I was put on blast saying what do I know, i'm not the one making 5mil a year lol

You would have had to pay more aav to Hyman for that short of term. Or just not get him at all. Yama at 5M seems like a bad idea and Pulj on the 3rd isn’t ideal.

I don't think you can just change players minds. Hyman isn't an oiler at less term. That stays if you keep him.

Keith was an overpay, but I really like his fit here.
You are also vastly overrating Jones. Guy's a bottom pair player (skill wise) for life. Overrated by many in this league. He's good, but no chance I'm paying any more than a 3rd for him.

However I very much so agree with picking up Bean and Dillon. Brossoit too. (That yama contract is probably worse than anything holland has done so far tho)

While I don’t disagree, it seems he has lost it but… no one thought Ceci or Barrie would have had as much success after their time in TOR. But other GMs new they would work out and other coaches could utilize them properly. This may be the case for some of these guys coming in this season, BUT I’m not sold that they are contending yet. They should be better

I agree the Yamamoto signing was a bit much, but I had no clue how to judge his value. I’ll adjust to around 3.75

I also understand that I can’t get Hyman for the term but I’d try

i have seen him play lmfao. he has a higher 2 year EVD War than Ryan McDonagh, Cale Makar, Josh Manson, Brian Dumolin, Jeff Petry, and VICTOR HEDMAN lol.

My own two eyes showed me how he is not good at defending. I watched so many defensive breakdowns, giveaways, and turnovers that he causes

Advanced Stats show way more than your potentially biased eye test.

And giveaways arent really a great measure of defensive ability either.

Giveaways is one area you do not want your defensive players to have a lot of.

I am not biased, I hoped that ceci would perform better for my teams sake, but he didn’t and I was quite disappointed. I watched him with Ottawa as well, and ceci is not a very good defender
