Perrault-Paquette together can handle the faceoffs Stepan would

Lehkonen didnt get in until Tatar,Drouin and Evans all got injured last year
I dont see him cracking Ducharme's line up this year either without atleast a few injuries

Too Defensive for Ducharme's system

Time to give Kotkaniemi Poehling Evans more responsibilities
We are not a playoffs contender team

Funny (but accurate) thing to say about a team that made the SCF this year.

I happen to think that they are a playoff contending team. Like all teams, a lot has to go right (though, you could make the argument that a lot has to go right for all teams). I think that they can mitigate the loss of both Weber and Danault, and the growth of everyone during the playoffs leads me to think that they now know both what it takes to get there and what it takes to get over the hump. Will they win the Stanley Cup this year? Probably not. But I personally still think that this team is built for the playoffs: they just have to get in. I wouldn't want to have to beat playoff Carey Price 4 times in a 7 game series. Maybe I am in a minority, but I think they just make it into the playoffs as the 4th seed in the Atlantic and 7/8 in the East. Again, a lot has to go right for them to get in. Please don't hate: these are just my opinions). smile

We lost Weber , Perry,Danault , Staal and Tatar to a lesser extent
Its to much loss and not enough people brought in
Hoffman replaces Tatar and Perry
Savard helps with Webers loss defensively but no help Goal Scoring wise
Danault hasnt been attempted to be replaced as the youth is being push as Evans has shown the same promise Danault did at his age

I think MTL are better than last year on paper, but getting back in the Atlantic will make it almost impossible to get in
Toronto Tampa are locked
Florida got better this offseason
Boston are always good because of the Marchand-Bergeron-Pastrnak line

He never came off because we were banged up
Drouin out , Tatar out , Evans out
Only Evans came back at the end

He got in by Proxy as a depth player
With the Winger depth we got this year
Theres even less room now

Toffoli and Armia both player their best hockey last year on LW
With Hoffman here and the addition of Perrault there's a question if Byron will start
Now Drouin is back to boot

Lehkonen is out
The Acquisition of Perrault and his lack of contract suggests his time is up

Agree to disagree: I am not committed to locking Toronto into a spot.

I think another question that may be asked: if Weber cannot play again this year (or ever), who will be the next captain of the Canadiens??? Gallagher? Petry? Suzuki?

Toffoli-Suzuki-Caufield (all 3 playoff points leaders last year and best line last year)
Hoffman-KK-Anderson(Trigger man and 2 guys to cycle pucks out of the corners and plant themselves infront of the net)
Drouin-Evans-Gallagher
Perrault-Paquette-Armia(Perrault/Paquette can handle faceoffs together )
Byron (If Drouin doesnt work out we'll swap places)

Edmunston-Petry
Chiarot-Savard
Romanov-Wideman (for now we need better though)

We have Caufield, Drouin and Hoffman to replace Tatar, Staal (lol) and Perry
Savard for Weber (it’s a loss but maybe Weber is back for playoffs)

It’s really the loss of danault who won’t be replace. Maybe Evans and Paquette can take the lead defensively

The bruins have Ulmark in net.

Tampa lost Johnson , Goodrow, Coleman , Savard , Gourde

Toronto haven’t upgrade anything but they are strong
Florida is way stronger

Buffalo sucks. I think we can make the playoffs

Toffoli was probably our worse forward in the semis and finals.
Byron Lehkonen are both better than Paquette and Perreault
Kulak is maybe 2 times better than Wideman (still don’t understand why you don’t like Kulak if he plays under 18 min a night).

With Perrault and Drouins ability to draw in on faceoffs it will help
All we really need is a Bozak or Stepan in a perfect world
But we dont need it , we will survive with Faceoff Support from wing

Really it will give Evans the same chance Danault got to grow when Desharnais was injured then traded.
He's a great investment as he's smart , hard working character guy with Leadership qualities

Agreed i'd give it to Petry

I want to give it to Gally , Truly i do
But it isnt worth the risk the Media turns on him
Its happened before

Beauty of Weber was he didnt care what Media thought
He let his actions define him and when he chose to speak all listened

I see that in Petry IMO
Maybe im wrong and we should just give it to Gally
But if it was me i'd give it to Petry

I guess Poehling cycles into his reserve spot them
Or they keep Lehkonen until TDL and try to use him to upgrade a piece
