I think the hold up at this point might be related to no-trade clause? But if Vladdy wants to go, he's gonna have to waive for anywhere that will take him.
Interestingly enough, it looks like the Blues would be under the cap with the current roster after signing RFAs. Seems like at this rate, the chance that VT stays in STL is climbing from 1% (Jeremy Rutherford's number which I agreed with) toward it being a realistic possibility... who knows. IMO Blues need to move him ASAP and move on. But if Armstrong isn't willing to sell low and thinks that it won't damage the room, and if VT isn't going to expand his trade destinations, maybe he sticks around?
I think his NTC is part of the hold up but it also might have to do with teams rather to go for free agent wingers over Tarasenko.
I do think Tarasenko still wants out and the Saad signing and Buchnevich trade basically means that the Blues have found Tarsenko's replacement
Tarasenko's value is really hard to judge because of his injuries and the fact that there are free agents available that teams could sign. Add in the fact that his NTC controls where he goes
These were the teams that Vlad was rumored to waive to: Rangers, Islanders, Golden Knights, Bruins, Flyers, Lightning, Capitals and Panthers
Lightning have no cap space, same with Boston and Vegas. Philly and Rangers don't need wingers. Panthers just got Reinhart. It's down to Islanders and Capitals then (assuming these were the only teams he wanted to go to)
If Vlad really wants out, he should open up his options. If he doesn't, then there's a chance he stays or the Blues are forced to get a bad return
