The obvious winner here is Vegas, but that being said, Reeves gives this team some much needed muscle after Panarin and company got bodied by Tom Wilson and they had no way to answer for it. Maybe Reeves gets more than ten points this year to be a bigger presence on the ice, but the fact of the matter is that the Rangers don't have a lot of grit and haven't for some time.
A 3rd is an overpayment for sure. He could have gone for a 5th or 6th and then I'd lean on this being fair.
EDIT: I forgot they added Goodrow and Blais so...actually yeah this is a bad look for NYR.
I can't believe anyone would give up a 3rd rounder for Reaves.
He's a boxer on skates and he was acquired because Tom Wilson hurt their feelings, but this move did not improve the Rangers IMHO. They gave up a decent draft pick and he takes up cap space and a roster spot. All for the four games a year they play the Caps. 43 really got in their heads!
The Caps should trade Tom Wilson now. Now THAT would be a hoot!
