Apparently, the ask for Eichel from Vegas was leaked.... it didn't seem to be a really high return. Some teams have backed out after FA (seems like LA , Minny, Canes and Florida are out, the later 2 not being serious contenders). the rangers apparently arent willing to deal KK or LAF and Schnieder. the price from the rangers will be higher than the price for a western team as eichel will play more against the sabres if he's in the east. This is where the Habs come in. can they, be a steal candidate and acquire Eichel without losing suzuki and caufield?

Waste. Even with Eichel, no guarantee you make the playoffs in a division with Tampa, Boston,Florida, and Toronto who are all regular season buffs. Not worth it in the slightest.

maybe not next year, but the year after they'll have an influx of further prospects. and its not out of teh realm that they grab a wild card spot. having Eichel helps a ton and add the growth of Suzuki and Caufield to that.

If you miss the playoffs, it means that you just traded a top 16 pick in a stacked draft class. Still doesn’t seem worth it.

You traded two LD to a team already set to overflowing with LD. Pieces make no sense though the value is there.

The VGK leak was already reported to not be the sabres asking price. If it was there is no way VGK turns that down.
There is no scenario that Eichel is traded and the best prospect the on the other team is off limits.
For MTL there is no chance that a deal is done with out Suzuki or Caufield.

Just about zero chance Montreal includes either in a deal for Eichel. I don't really see them making sense as an Eichel destination.
