Eichel Sweepstakes

Créé par: Not_Not_Batman
Date de création initiale: 29 juill. 2021

Équipe: 2021-22 Sabres de Buffalo
Explications
Seems the market has slowed down now that free agency has begun. I still think the same teams will be in the conversation once trade takes pick up again. These are the trades I think would make it happen for each team from a Buffalo perspective while also considering the trade partners cap position as well as prospects.
Transactions
1.
BUF
  1. Tuch, Alex
  2. Smith, Reilly
  3. Krebs, Peyton
  4. Hague, Nicolas
  5. 2022 1e round pick (VGK)
Détails additionnels:
Vegas needs to address the 1C position if they want to have a chance at winning the cup. Sabres keep Tuch and either flip Smith immediately or at the TDL.
VGK
    Eichel, Jack
    Mid Round Pick in 2023
    2.
    BUF
    1. Comtois, Maxime [Droits de RFA]
    2. Drysdale, Jamie
    3. Henrique, Adam
    4. 2022 1e round pick (ANA)
    Détails additionnels:
Things have been very quiet in Anaheim. I wouldn't be surprised if they reemerge into the trade conversation.
    ANA
      Eichel, Jack
      3.
      BUF
      1. Greenway, Jordan
      2. Rossi, Marco
      3. Zuccarello, Mats
      4. 2022 1e round pick (MIN)
      Détails additionnels:
I know Rask is usually the dump in these ACGM but I think GMBG is going to want to try and move out as much salary as possible . I know Zuccarello has NMC, so it would have to be a 3 team trade. Sabres retain salary and move Zuccarello to another contender of his choosing.
      MIN
        Eichel, Jack
        4.
        BUF
        1. Lundkvist, Nils
        2. Schneider, Braden
        3. Chytil, Filip [Droits de RFA]
        4. 2022 1e round pick (NYR)
        Détails additionnels:
Least likely team for Eichel to be moved to unless GMCD decides move on the idea that every single quality prospect/player is "untouchable".

That rangers return is just bad. Trade with rangers just wont happen because they dont want to trade anything that makes sense

I’m not doing Tuch and Krebs. It’s too much for so much uncertainty with Jack’s neck.

I myself wager he's heading to Flames. They just need to figure out a three way since Monahan is not waiving that NTC to come to Buffalo.

I just don't see a return that makes sense in a Flames trade. At least one that Flames fans will be happy with.

Yeah I would take a harder look at the players the Rangers are offering and reconsider this statement. Lundkvist is a top 5 D-prospect in the game, and he'll be ready to step in next year. Schneider might be a half a step behind Lundqvist in potential and has all kinds of upside to his game. Chytil is a middle 6 Center/Winger and the 1st. That is a very generous offer IMO. Eichel isn't pulling in Lafrienre + , that ship has sailed

Just doesn't make sense for the Ducks. If it were this time next year and the team had seen noticeable improvement, sure, I could be convinced. At this point though, there's a very good chance that the pick still ends top 3, which means that they're giving up a good shot at Wright/Lambert/Savoie. For a team that was the 2nd worst in the league this past year, that's just way too much to give up for 1 player.

On a different page he already said the Rangers dont have any good prospects.

Vegas is the only team that can sustain their success while Eichel recovers from any surgery (which isn't believed to be a long recovery period). He is currently working out and skating so it may be something that no longer even requires a surgery in the immediate future. You'll have to shed enough salary to acquire Eichel. Tuch makes up that salary difference as well as makes up for the fact that the Vegas pick next year is going to be somewhere between 28-32.

You are months beyond "making sense" with an Eichel trade. That ship has sailed. Sabres gotta get anything they can, at this point.

I have to assume the Sabres have insurance on that contract. Sit him out a season, get him healthy, and try again. Maybe at the deadline. Next season, he has a big signing bonus, so that's the end-all deadline.

I don't disagree, I would think their best idea would to stay the course with the rebuild, but GMBM seems desperate to make something happen quick this year as it seems that his job is very much on the line.

This is being said a lot around here and it is a ridiculous thought. You don't give away top talent, I don't care how disgruntled his camp says he is.

I don't know about desperate...the Ducks have been pretty quiet so far this offseason, which (IMO) shows that they're being patient which is the right move.

Again, just my opinion, but re-signing Getz for that dollar value showed that they're intent on keeping him around to mentor the young future core. Otherwise, they could have spent a bunch of money upgrading in free agency.

Rangers are basically betting against themselves right now. No reason to up the ante when there are no other players at the table.

Rangers decline. They are not dealing both Lundkvist and Schneider. One of them is a possibility with Lundkvist (according to rumors) being the easier prospect to move.

Rangers would like to do something along the lines of Chytil, Georgiev, Zac Jones or Matthew Robertson and a 2022 1st round pick. Could I see them doing Chytil, Georgiev, Lundkvist and a 2022 1st...yes.

No, you dont. But Buffalo management is that bad that that's what it is going to come to.

Their mistake was not trading him much sooner. Between attitude, coach issues, contract & cap hit, injury, plus cost of assets to acquire... not to mention, all the teams that keep getting brought up will have to lose additional key pieces to make the trade work. And on top to that, no player is waiving a NTC to go to Buffalo.

I agree their current moves definitely seem they are staying patient. Ducks are unlikely at this point, but I wouldn't be surprised if they throw their hat back in the ring. We shall see.

I don't disagree, I would think their best idea would to stay the course with the rebuild, but GMBM seems desperate to make something happen quick this year as it seems that his job is very much on the line.

Him wanting to keep his job is the number 1 reason not to give up this much for Eichel. If he sells the farm for Eichel we're still a bottom 10 team without a future now. Drysdale, Zegras and the next 2 firsts are more likely than not all off the table for ANA

Obviously that means no Eichel but the Ducks arent in a position to sell the farm for one guy

Yeah rather trade Dadonov for the salary difference or Reaves, carrier and Mcnabb else where.

I understand that Buffalo fans want Tuch, we’ve done this dance every offseason since our inception. He’s from Buffalo, you guys want him.

I’m telling you I’ll give picks up, but I’m not giving both Tuch and Krebs for an injured Eichel. It’s that simple.

Yeah, I just feel like the reason they're being included in the rumors is strictly out of convenience. They've got cap space. They've got high end propsects. They've got what are likely high picks. From a true asset management perspective though, there's absolutely zero point in them doing this.

Plus, imagine 8-10 months from now, when the Ducks are (inevitably) at the bottom of the standings. Aside from the neck thing, isn't one of Eichel's biggest gripes right now the lack of team performance? What happens when he has his NMC kick in, and demands a trade? Just a big 'ol set of handcuffs and a kick in the arse for GMBM.

So vegas just decimates their high end depth and future for 1 player? That sounds like a recipe for disaster

You are not getting anything close to any of these returns. Buffalo has ZERO leverage and the player is pissed.

Then player sits and/or retires. This front office is not getting played like they did in the ROR trade.
