WINNERS THOUGHTS
Hall, Forbort and Haula are good cheap signatures for Bruins. With that Ullmark contract I think it means the end for Rask, or he'll be signing for minimum salary.
Hawks got rid of Seabrook's and Keith's contracts. Jones, Fleury and Johnson additions (fleury and Johnson for litteraly nothing) already put this team in a playoff spot. However I don't really like McCabe's signature, he's overpaid IMO.
Panthers been able to get rid of Stralman's salary without paying too much. Bennett trade and signature is great for them. Reinhart is also a very good asset, this team can only improve and they didn't lost good players. They will be taken seriously.
Devils signed the best player available, that's a win for them.
Fletcher have been an active GM, revamping completely Flyers d-core. I don't like all the players he got, but need to say he did a good job. No more Voracek and Ghost bad contracts is good too. Carter Hart is still a question mark but if he have a good season, flyers will be back in playoffs.
Hate to admit that, but Benning showed genius and creativity to get rid of Vancouver cap dumps. That forward group is looking very good. There are still some question marks on this defense, but this team surely is going in the right direction.
LOSERS THOUGHTS
Canes are in a losers"s spot not only because they lost Hamilton, but especially because they still don't have a quality #1 goalie. Still don't understand why they traded Nedeljkovic. Bear trade was a very good move thought.
Dallas is there because that Suter's signing is awful. Too long.
Fine they got Hyman (not a good deal IMO), but that new oilers defense is meeeh, and also they're still stuck with Smith-Koski-Stalock. Don't have expectations for this team.
I'm placing Minnesota in the losers because they still haven't done anything to improve. They didn't use yet that salary margin they made with buyouts. Kaprizov and Fiala still needs to be extend. Also, they lost a good player in the expansion draft (Soucy would have play top 4 with the Suter buyout).
I have to place Islanders in the losers side. A contender team not moving isn't a good sign. They didn't use the salary margin they made with Ladd and Leddy trades, also they didn't patch the hole Leddy left at LD. Cizikas potentially leaving will hurt too.
Lightning lost Gourde, Coleman, Goodrow, Johnson and they still in cap hell. This is the price to pay after being back to back champs. They're patching with minimum salary players, but they still have the best goalie, good d-core and decent top 6.
What are your thoughts?
Can't wait to see where Saad is going to end. I think he will go somewhere like Ottawa or Detroit as a good long term vet for big money.
I say add the yotes in the winners and leafs in the losers
Leafs did well, in offseason, Bunting for 950k? great, Mrazek is pretty good backup for campbell, Biega is one of the best 750K defenceman available, and Kampf is finally somebody for penaltykill. They just missing still one top 6 left winger.

That last part is exactly why im unhappy, leafs arent winning sh*t with a bunch of AHLers at LW

Leafs are stucked with cap because of their big forwards contracts. They can't spend much more on forward because of their cap hell, and with cheap budget come cheap forwards. They did an OK job considering their budget.

Trade Kerfoot and they get more cap space to use on better players
