2 great deals for mtl

Got Savard and Hoffman on pretty fair deals when guys like Forbort is getting 3 million, Poolman 2.5AAV. Hoffman is a clear need with a PP that doesn't have his production. Full season of Caufield and Hoffman should drastically improve a big weakness last year for a great 5on5 team though Danault loss will hurt quite a bit.
Depends on Evans health and if Poehling can step up while Kotkaniemi has Gallagher drag him to Danault levels

Hoffman IMHO makes ZERO sense. Might as well add Grubauer to back Allen and Price...... Am I the only one that sees that the two areas of weakness on this team ARE DEFENCE AND CENTER??? No wingers.

There are no centers available. Bonino, Nosek, Haula were the top3 options in free agency. Kotkaniemi isnt there yet but that's the gamble. No such thing as a guarantee when you are trying to best 31 other teams.

i feel like what they're trying to do is get experienced and decent wingers to kinda carry the young centre corps. On the first three lines, you've got 2nd or higher line wingers, but 2C KK is really only fringe, and Evans is a fringe 3C. I think they're hoping that with the strong wingers, they'll get brought up to higher level centres, KK to a 2C, Evans to a 3C.

Right now, we have no experienced centers that can win faceoffs. Thats a problem IMO. I was ok letting Danault walk but im not ok not replacing him with someone like Cizikas, Glendening, etc. True 3-4th line quality centerman.
