Travis Hamonic has signed a new contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

He loves northwest Canada

Maybe he can bounce back playing with OEL..

He will spend more minutes at the doctor than on the ice so no, too much injury prone

And Benning loves his fringe bottom pairing defenders

Good deal. I think Hamonic is quite underrated.

If Hamonic stays healthy, this'll look like a steal. And even if he doesn't, it's not damaging to VAN. He's still a plenty good 2RD.

Has he declined a lot over the last year or two? Dude was a good defensive defenseman a couple years ago.

Hamonic didnt play in the bubble...and it showed, when he came back from his injury...he was a completely different player- he played at a 3mil level. I was hoping for a smaller caphit, but this deal will look much better than what they gave Poolman.

He already looked good last year, and improved as the season went. He was just hurt at the start so we didn't get a good look.

This is a safe signing, he played like a 3M player near the end of last year. I had him pegged at 2.85m x 2, so this isn't really an overpay.

Overpaid, but he's still a decent #5 defender.

I personally don't like it. He can't really kill penalties and with Schenn and Poolman he's not needed. What if Canucks retain 50% and trade him to the Golden Knights?
