DÉTAILS DE LA CLAUSE: Le joueur soumet une liste de 12 équipes où il refuse d'être échangé.
Agreed. Yes the cap hit is $850k more than Garland. But Buchnevich has put up more points with a lower percentage of them being on the PP than Garland who gets more PP time than Buchnevich too. Not that either are tremendously physical but Buchnevich hits more, blocks more shots and is bigger than Garland. Buchnevich also had more PK time than PP time this past season, averaging 2:19 per game on the PK while Garland doesn't kill penalties at all. And although it feels like Buchnevich has been around forever and Garland is just starting, Garland is 25 and Buchnevich is 26 and both contracts expire when they're 30.
So yeah, the Buchnevich contract is higher, but he's an all around better player.

Garland makes this look poor - still a good grab for the Blues
"Makes this look poor" is interesting.
I get the sense that people are just following the Garland-good narrative rather than putting it into context. Buchnevich is an incredibly underrated player as well who's done way more than expected in his minutes so far in his career. Almost ironically similar to Garland, except better of anything.

Buchnevich is a lot more established. Garland only has the last two years as a top 6 forward. Career 0.55 point per game for garland vs 0.65. Both trending right.
Also Garland signed for 4 years and Buch through his whole prime essentially. The 850k aav difference makes sense

Buch 76 in 73 still feel this looks like a poor deal?
