Worth more??? Wow!!! One Tier 2, two Tier 3 Prospects AND a first and a second... It would not surprise me, if this is could end up to be the return for an Eichel Trade. And with all my love to Bertuzzi: he is not THAT good.

It's not so much how many you have it's more the quality, like you said one teir 2 prospect. Would rather leave the teir 3 prospects and the teir 2 and get a teir 1 guy. That's what I think he's getting at, we have alot of B and C level guys in the system, maybe not alot alot but enough. We are lacking the high end prospects other than Raymond Sieder and Edvinsson. You could probably drop two of those guys maybe even all 3, put Robertson in and it's a better deal.

What would you say if I offered you Namestnikov, Newpower, Niederbach, 2023 2nd and 2024 3rd for Nylander?

I'm not sure it's necesserily more value per se. Fewer better assets would be better. The 1st is great, and imo necessary, then I would just want 1 great prospect.
Detroit's need is quality not quantity. If you look at the draft just gone every pick was a wild swing for the fences, we have plenty of bottom/middle 6 forwards, plenty of bottom 4 D, we need either 1 star, or ~2 more VERY good players to form a top line and top pair. 1st + Toronto's best forward prospect would be appropriate.

Already clear with the quality. Tier 2 in this case is premium!!!
TIER 1 only is drafted once in a while. It is Matthews / McDavid caliber. This type of player plus a first and a second is hilarious.



I would say: that are a a lot of names starting with N. 😅 And there is no first rounder included, also Nylander has term left, Bert is a RFA. So I can't take this comparison seriously.

i feel like bertuzzi is not a good enough player for this to be the ask. sam reinhart just got a first and a so-so goalie prospect, and i'd pick him over bertuzzi ten times out of ten. buchnevich got a second and a bottom six player, and i'd pick him over bertuzzi as well. this ask is strange given the market for forwards/wingers rn.

But you're missing the point, those guys wanted to be traded and the organizations had to move them... Detroit doesn't want to or have to move Bertuzzi, nor does Bertuzzi want to be moved, so there is no reason for Detroit to even take "market value" - overpay, or no trade.

The GM can just trade you to Arizona or Buffalo for a 5th N a Bag of Hockey Pucks instead if the player doesn't accept the trade then.
