I like it. The lack of picks hurt but that Columbus puck will be an early 3rd so it’s not brutal. However, it’s a safe bet to assume Vesalainen and gustafsson will be regulars in my opinion. They are both ready and have plenty of chemistry togehter. Expect a veteran signing like zajac to flank them on the rw.

As for the armia signing, I’d pass. Don’t exactly have much cap space so it’s not the best idea unfortunately. Maybe go for a guy like sutter instead or better yet, play perfetti!

I agree it is, and he will never sign that tbh. Even if he does, I think the money is better spent filling in the rest of the roster (ie having a full 23). The jets should really give perfetti a full look.

The only way I’d want Perfetti with the Jets this season would be with Scheifele and Ehlers on the first line, if not I think playing 1C on the moose is best. I’d like to see Gus and Vesa in the NHL but I just can’t see Maurice playing them.

IMO Perfetti is too young but him and Heinola were so freaking good with the Moose

Heinola was good with the jets too . When he played, sometimes he was the best defencemen in the game.

As for perfetti, yeah, I have that worry too but if he can produce at 2 pts per game towards the end of the season, he's nhl ready in my opinion. I have yet to see a case where that is not true. I’m not going to be disappointed if he doesn’t make it (since he’s only 19) but I fully expect him to.

I disagree with you here a lot. I think ehlers and schiefele should always be on separate lines unless we need a shake up. They are the only 2 forwards on this team who drive the bus offensively for the top 6. Putting them on the same line stunts the other line. We’ve seen that multiple times. Hence why I would keep them separate. Same reason why I like ehlers in PP2. That’s his powerplay and he runs it. As for perfetti on the first line, that’s gonna be a big no from me. Perfetti should NOT be on the first line this season unless he proves he can handle it. First line mins are tough and I’m not sure perfetti is built for those just yet. I’d like to see him in a sheltered offensive role with dubios and ehelrs, two good play drivers. He can worry about adjusting to the nhl while lighting it up.

I think Maurice fell in love with Vesalainens game late in the year. The frequent top 6 role and reliance late in games showed that Vesalainen was developing trust as the next guy in. With Lewis and thompson gone, he’s next. Maurice already established that last year. As for gustafsson, the jets need a 4C. That’s what he does. It just makes sense unless they go out and get one.
