I like the idea of Buffalo taking on cap for picks.
I wish Buffalo could have made the Ladd trade as that works out to almost a first round pick if all conditions are met.
As to this trade, Buffalo's '22 third will be just a few spots after the Islanders, and if as your title indicates it will be only one spot different as the Islanders pick last if they win the cup and Buffalo picks first.
So take out the Buffalo pick and make it the Islanders 3rd.
BUF get Komarov and 2022 3rd round pick (NYI).
