I have seen Schmidt play, in Vegas and Vancouver. His playing was not as impressive north of the border as in Sin City. He's a good player, however, he has a long deal which would make signing Barkov and Huby harder. There are cheaper options that get the same job done. Also, he is not an RHD, which means he would be playing in the third pairing behind Weegar and Forsling
Didn't you get him for a 3rd rounder? Why would've his value gone up after a down year?
