The Jets have some RHD prospects, Gawanke and Kovacevic have a couple AHL seasons under their belt, not sure if they'll qualify Green (I think they should) but he's a RHD prospect and they drafted a big RHD in the 5th or 6th round last year, Tyrell Bauer I think his name is, oh and Simon Lundmark is a RHD who is starting with the Moose this year, he was a 2nd round pick in 2019 I think, so yeah they have some RHD prospects, if any will make it who knows, other issue is the management and coaching staffs wanting to play plugs like Bitetto ahead of prospects like Nogier who've put their time in with the Moose, I could see all those RHD prospects never getting much of a chance, history repeats itself in Winnipeg. I don't get too excited about Jets prospects anymore unless they're a 1st round pick, the 1st rounders are the only ones who really stand much of a chance of making it with this organization.
I know the thought process of draft the best player available but I look at that Kuzmin pick and I see yet another smallish LHD, seriously how ****ing many of the same player does one team need?!! Drafted an even smaller LHD in that Johansson kid last year, Niku still kicking around, Morrissey here long term, Heinola knocking on the door, Chisholm is a bit bigger but he isn't much bigger then Morrissey, he's smooth though so if he fills out he might be a player if they give him a chance, anyway that's a ton of the same kind of player taken in repeated drafts. I really don't think having so many of the same kind of player works and then having a GM that's so inactive doesn't help cause if those guys are trending in the right direction and could maybe be a good trade chip it doesn't matter cause Chevy doesn't do much work to build out this lineup.
The other two Russians drafted today look interesting, I was always hoping they'd bring Kraskovsky over but he's never signed, hopefully these two picked today come over at some point and actually get a chance to play, the Russians don't want to toil in the AHL forever.
Nix a aimé ceci.
