Not taking into consideration the players picked, I would call this an Edmonton win because they got a 3rd to move down 2 spots. With a top 10 talent available, you run to the podium and take that, and only trade down with a much better offer. I'll just call this a fair deal.

I "scouted" Konovalov in Yara. He will not instantly become your 1 goalie if he will at all. I ve seen a lot of talent but his game alters drastically under circumstances. They needed a certain blue liners to be on ice for him to play good, that is concerning.

those are mediocre prospects. Wallstedt will be a #1 in 3-4 years approx. Every team has prospects, but outside of Broberg- none are great.

The trade on it's own is a fair deal (my vote): move back 2 spots and pick up a late 3rd, fair value.

It'll take 10 years to see if there was a winner or not in this trade. Prospects, in general, are a fickle thing; and goalie prospects are even more fickle than skater prospects.

This. Trade was fair value with all the unknowns involved right now. If the goalie doesn't pan out and Holland drafts the next Tarasenko and Point with the picks he received, people are going to look awful stupid in this thread.

they way Stuart Skinner is playing in the NHL and the way Bourgault is playing in the QMJHL is making me lest worried about this trade

I won't dare consider this a smart move for the Oilers if and until Munzenberger becomes something. If Wallstedt reaches his ceiling then the Oilers need Bourgault to become a top-RW in the league just to break even.
