Weber is never playing again plus 3 top 6 forwards

Description
-Weber is never playing again, gonna miss him, such a warrior.
On the bright side, this means we can get another 1st round pick. Nashville has no choice other than to give us their 1st because of the $24mil dollar cap penalty that they will receive when he retires. This will force Nashville to get rid of at least 3 or 4 of their top players. Nashville essentially has no choice, either they bite the bullet or accept the trade and keep their top 4 players.

Weber is NOT retiring... he's LTIRetiring... insurance is paying 80% of his actual salary
So NO NAS won't give you a first for him

Read the newest reports on his injury. He has an injured ankle, knee, foot, and thumb and will "likely never play again"... usually this means he will retire lmao

yes, I know but he'll do like every other players did with excessive terms on their contract (thx to the 2005 CBA) and LTIRe (except Luongo)... there's even one in there that got allergic to his equipment

you can keep crying but that's a reality cry

    Cheaper to buyout Byron

And Drouin will be in training camp, hes staying.

And for Weber, you put him on LTIR for 2 seasons then pressure retirement as hes only owed 3m in the last 3 years. The recapture penalty would be crazy, thats when you can get stuff from the Preds

How do you pressure Weber into retiring? Hey Shane, do you mind retiring and forfeiting some money so we can pressure this other team into giving us stuff? O PS, we can’t pay you for this and no one can know about this conversation but you’d be doing us a solid.

Habs lose 7.8 million in the offseason because of his cap hit. Hed only make 3m total in the last 3 years, thats a very easy conversation to have.

So he foregoes 3M in cash because he wants the Habs to have leverage in a trade over Nashville? Whom I’d wager he has relationships with some of their players & FO personnel to this date? There’s no incentive for him so I don’t see how logically you can say it’s an easy conversation.

You have to explain how trading Weber to Nashville helps Nashville's cap. If Weber retires Nashville in on the hook for his "front loaded contract", doesn't really matter if he is a Hab or not.

There is no such thing a LTIR retired. There's LTIR (for various lengths of time) and retire. But a player can't declare himself LTIR and get paid, and team can't declare a player on LTIR to avoid cap. LTIR mean a player can't be medically fit to play and the league actually decides.

If Beauvillier gets traded to the Canadiens, it will be for someone drafted in the first round, and I don't think that you're going to like that.

Fair enough but it’s still not enough. Bert isn’t for sale. For Yzerman to trade Bert it will require an overpayment. I have a 2006 Tacoma 4x4 with 58K miles. It has a lift and 31 inch tires on it, it is in mint condition. It’s not for sale but if you offered me 2X Kelly Blue Book I would consider selling it.

Bertuzzi has been linked to the Habs and Devils according to multiple sources. It's also rumored that contract negotiations between Bertuzzi and the Red Wings have stopped and it's believed he's played his last game for the Red Wings.

So basically what I'm saying is that Yzerman wants him back on the Red Wings but Bertuzzi wants out and the Devils and Habs have been linked to him

LOL. I heard Yzerman say the words in a press conference. Yzerman stated that Bert isn’t on the block but would entertain trade proposals. Now you’re just pulling stuff out of your dark-side. 😂

Lehkonen went over 30 points once in the 2018-19 and he has been in just about every Montreal ACGM done by Montreal fans for the last 3 seasons.

Kulak is a UFA at the end of the season and rebuilding team don't rent players.

Hills is behind Poehling on the depth chart and Poehling's celling is a #3C.

I'm sorry but that trade is awful for Detroit.

Yzerman about two hours ago said Bertuzzi is too valuable and not being shopped. Acknowledged that teams have tried but said it's not happening.

Keep dreaming about that supposed leverage you have over Nashville
    1) if Weber is too injured to play and can go onto ltir he will and will collect the money he deserves. Montreal can’t do a dang thing about it. Trying to pressure him to retire would reflect rather poorly on Montreal
    2) if Weber decides he’d rather retire there isn’t a thing Nashville can do about it so why would we trade for him? We have a ton of capspace and are entering a retool/rebuild trading anything of value would be dumb. I’ll give you future considerations at most
