Oddly enough the bruins have oodles of cap space. Some of that may be eaten up by them qualifying a bunch of RFAs that they shouldn’t have. I bet they really like Soucy, but probably not that much.

      Great strategy ✔

Yeah their roster isn't quite ready to compete yet

Driedger & Dunn may disagree though 👀

Hm seems inevitable it whittles down tho 😕

      10M for Rask and krejci

5M$ for kase and ritchie (as you alluded to)

      4M$ for an experienced RD

So I guess maybe 5M$ left over

Not to mention players like Reilly and Hall. A team that is trying to content can never have enough cap space, Boston has to be a bit aggressive this offseason. But I get your point, maybe it'd be a 2nd round pick rather than a 1st. Or maybe it could be a similar cap move with a more desperate team for their first.

It's similar to the Ghost trade but Gardiner's stock is probably lower because he's more injured and older.

Hard no from Canucks. Not trading 9OA to dump camp. If we trade Myers and Schmidt leaves, we are heading into free agency with 0 defence men on contract

I don’t think you understand, we are not giving up a first to dump cap, Benning is stupid but rgr Sedins are not. If he even tried this, the Sedins would take over and hang up the phone.

Dude, 15mil in cap is worth way more than a first-round pick. Philly gave a 2nd and a 7th for Arizona to take Ghost and Ghost is better than Myers. Toronto gave the Canes a 1st to buy out Marleau. I don't think this trade ever happens but any team willing to eat 15m in cap will receive more than a 1st round pick.

It’s for one year though…. Not wasting futures to shed cap in a year we won’t be contending anyway…

Myers is three years and y'alls still need cash this year to sign EP40. And what you're saying isn't wrong. It's just that anything is possible with Benning so other GMs should take advantage.

Benning is stupid which is why we hired the Sedins. If he ever even considered something like this, the Sedins are there to chain him to his chair and take over from there.

I wasn't too far off. Van literally gave up their 9th overall for a camp dump + Garland + OEL (who is just as bad as Myers).
