Might as well give away the rest of the prospects for nothing. Justin Holl is the second coming of christ that cannot be sacrificed no matter what

I don't think they had Cholowski in their future plans. The Leafs not protecting McCann because they need to keep Holl is nothing short of garbage asset management. Now the Leafs still have jack sh*t at left wing when McCann would've help fill that hole and had another year of control which could've been turned into a long term deal but no, Justin Holl is a Bobby Orr clone apparently

Most Detroit fans will tell you Cholowski just hasn’t panned out. I think he has the tools to be an NHLer, but a change of scenery was necessary for him

Inbefore homers come with Stats-sheets where Holl is Top 10 D in the league

To quote a guy from PIT - TML trade thread :

I said the same about the Kadri trade, let's see how Dubas ****s this one up

When everyone with brains thought Dubarelli fleeced PIT for second time and is on his way to channel Goodrow - Gourde - Coleman line which would overcome the shutdown of first two lines presented to you by MTL, the "TOP 4 D" named Holl appeared

Holl for Norris! All annoyance aside with the McCann trade, Holl would not of been taken by Seattle if left open (there's a Justin Holl in every AHL locker room). What the the trade really was is Dubus paying a mediocre prospect and a 7th for Kerfoot. This had nothing to do with adding McCann. Now I don't agree with not protecting both McCann and Kerfoot that part is all silly to me. I have to believe there is more to come

Everyone who thinks the McCann trade was poor asset management and that Seattle would have taken Holl instead are the idiots. The McCann trade was purely third line Center insurance so we didn’t lose Kerfoot or if we did lose Kerfoot we had McCann. Seattle never wanted Holl..

So why not go 7-3-1? They went 4-4-1 to protect Holl. If Seattle doesn't want Holl you can keep all 3 now

Thats exactly why you expose him.

7-3-1 would leave to SEA :

Forwards : Engvall, Anderson and Spezza ( who we know what he would do if drafted )

Defenders : Holl and Dermott

Goalies : Hutchinson

Some ppl are waveing around here with threat of SEA asking 1st and 3rd to take the exact player but in the names above i dont see anyone not expendable.

In case SEA takes Holl, Dermott jumps in for 500k less, 5 years younger and much more upside as clumsy and insecure-with-puck "TOP 4 D McDavids kryptonite" Holl

In case SEA takes anyone else, you kept your beloved "TOP 4D" Holl

As for McCann, kid is on his way to rise, would make great fundation to build 3rd line as its C with his shooting upside over Kerfoot, who is feeder more than a sniper, Kerfoot filling in for PK and McCann for PP, but hey....who are we to know anything about hockey if its not backuped by stats-sheets.
