We lost Filip Hallander and a 7th round pick due to the expansion draft I would call that a win for the Leaf's

They should have protected kerfoot and McCann. I get what he did but he should have just lost dermott or holl

D is harder to replace than depth forwards

McCann would be a good 2nd line winger for the leafs and kerffot you could trade for assets. I'm sure if yu put Dermott with Muzzin he would play well too. Thats just my opinion

Losing Holl is not the smart move as for 5 years the leafs had a problem getting RD. Holl at 2mill is a steal for what he does. Sure losing McCann sucks but what if he has a down year or after his contract wants 4mill

There were to many risks. As Tampa showed going with the same team with some changes to 3rd line depth you will go far

I just think Holl gets carried by Muzzin and he's 29 so I would rather have McCann than him. Thats just my opinion tho

Lots of Dman get carried by other Dman its nothing special. Holl puts up good numbers and fun fact held Mcdavid to no points over a 3 game stretch

Pens get Hallander + 7th so the leafs take McCann. Leafs get Matheson (half retained). SEA gets McCann for retaining 50% on mathesons contract
