I don’t mind the idea of Schwartz coming in, I’d also say maybe not sign Montour and Goligoski and spend some of the money on a guy like Mike Reilly and give kylington a shot and maybe sign a 7th defenceman in case kylington is bad

I think it is Connor Mackey season, he will have a full off season and training camp and fits Sutter's style really well. I would like them to sign a veteran D like you have with Goligoski and throw Mackey on the right side. Love the Valimaki Tanev pairing, hopefully he can do for Valimakie what he did for Hanifin last year

I'd be a fan of signing Reilly for the third pairing alongside Kylington. I'd then want to sign a trusted vet for the 7th defenseman slot, can't just bring back Stone again

Seems like a lot of responsibility for Mackey at this point. They could potentially rotate him and Kylington and hope one sticks.

For sure, you are absolutely right. I think Mackey is the better player and the better fit in the bottom two pairings though. If Kylington was to be in the NHL it would have to be with a guy like Tanev, the guy is a mistake waiting to happen in his own end of the ice and he cant make a break out pass for the life of him. Tough to find guys like Tanev for a bottom pair unless he's with a Stone or Vet signing like you suggested. I wouldn't be shocked if Kylington's next big contract came out of Sweden or Russia, guy is perfect for over there, hell someone is actually paying Nikita Nesterov, Kylington could secure his bag in Europe.
