Description
Here are some different trade concepts for the Canucks—trying to take a different approach than usual:

(1) Seattle/Washington/Vancouver deal:
The concept here is that Vancouver makes a deal to acquire Brendan Dillon through Seattle selecting him in the expansion draft. To do this, Vancouver eats a lot Holtby's deal and gives Washington Nate Schmidt. The Kraken then have the ability to either keep Holtby and/or Schmidt on their roster if that is what they think is best, or—more likely—they trade them for other picks or assets coming out of the expansion draft. If Seattle does sell, they could leverage this situation and end up with at least three 2nd/3rd round draft picks for facilitating the transaction. Maybe another pick too if they bluff and get Washington to pay to protect Vanecek over Dillon.

(2) Tampa/Vancouver deal:
Core concept here is to give Tampa some other options for clearing extra cap-space besides just trading their big-ticket players. Tampa downgrades going from Foote to Juolevi, but the retained salary on the trade pieces would save them an additional ~1.3 million in cap space. PS—added in Ferland there because I understand that maybe that might be a LTIR benefit for Tampa? Not 100% how that would work so if someone could clarify that would be great. If its not useful take it out.

(3) Arizona/Vancouver deal:
Working under the assumption that Arizona is trying to dump as much salary as possible and tank for the next few drafts. Beagle is definitely not as effective a player as Pitlick, but now that his bonus is paid he is only due $1.2 million in salary the rest of the season. Pitlick on the other hand is owed $2.2 million in salary. Despite the much larger cap hit on Beagle, Arizona actually saves one-million dollars in salary.

Dickinson gets a million less and sign someone cheap rather than McGinn (ie: Leivo). This leaves you with $4 million in cap room. Resign Hamonic at 2.5 and add 2 league min players for a 22 man roster.
