Sabres say read the rumor mill and try again. We supposedly are getting multiple calls and the price is somewhere near a 1st + B prospect or 2nd + A prospect.

This gives us a 5.5 mil headcase for two years and a 3rd. If you want us to take Drouin, we’d require compensation for that alone.

Guhle is going to top out as a 3rd pairing D, his hockey IQ sucks and Lehkonen is a 4th liner. You think Lehkonen can replace Beauvillier on the isles? That's like saying Bellows can replace Caufield on the habs. You can keep your trash players.

1. Montreal is not adding a 3rd to Buffalo unless the Sabres are retaining.
2. Beauvillier costs more, maybe start at Poehling + Norlinder + 2022 1st.
3. I feel like there is already a deal with Danault but the NHL and media had to go into damage control because of all of the hype they are putting out for the ED coverage.
4. Sign a 3rd line center instead of helping Tampa out and move Beauvillier up a line.
5. Swap Larsson and Risto I feel like Risto would be great with Romy.
6. Cut about 1-1.5 Mil off Halak's contract.

Yes but he was played on the 4th line and is not suited to that role. This past season working with Bouchard in Laval he has been much better and should be able to Crack an NHL roster as a middle 6 forward (probably on the wing to start)

ATM Poehling is worth a mid to high 2nd, Norlinder is a hit or miss prospect there is no in between with him and the 22 1st will be mid to late 1st rounder.

According to topdownhockey's prospect model, Poehling currently has a 17% chance of even making the NHL. Byron Bader's model is also low on him. The Islanders have a ton of cap space, Beauvillier is 24 YO, their best two way winger. What is the incentive for the isles to trade him even with a 1st rd pick?

Beauvillier was on pace for 49 points in his age 23 season. In his last 44 games he put up 35 points which is a 65 point pace. Trotz system hurts his point totals, just like Barzal.

We will see, he is NHL ready now according to many other insiders and scouts. IMO he starts at 3 LW and evolves from there. If Danault really is done in Montreal Poehling will get his shot and most likely will surprise.

Even if Poehling does make the NHL its likely as a 4th liner - and then there's Norlinder who Trotz would never play even if he becomes an NHL caliber player.

There's only two players that make sense to trade Beauvillier for: Caufield or Suzuki. That's the price MTL has to pay if they want to acquire someone the isles have no interest in giving up. The problem is everything MTL has to offer is either too valuable to give up or not valuable enough for the Isles to want, which is why there's almost no chance he gets traded there.

Jake Evans should not be playing 3C.
Jaro Halak had poor numbers and one of the better defensive teams.
We saw Jake Allen's numbers go down when he had to play the majority of the games in the second half.
Lou ain't letting u get Beau.
If u were getting Beau why would u have him on the third line?
Killorn is unnessecary and you're just helping Tampa get under the cap.

Yes I would, Beauvillier currently puts up 35+ points in a defensive system, I believe he was on a line with Nelson and Bailey not exactly great offensive weapons.

OH COME ON! That's like me saying only one person on NY makes sense to trade Armia for and that is Barzal! Look I get that you like Beauvillier and he is a great middle 6 forward but you don't get top talent for middle 6 wingers! Think about what you just said! Caufield and Suzuki! Give your head a shake! Now you lost all credibility IMO!

middle 6? That's funny. He leads all isles forwards in wins above replacement over the last two seasons, was on pace for 26 goals , and increases the rate his team scores 2x as much as the average forward. HE is currently a high end 2nd liner and would be a 60-65 pt player in an offensive minded system. Armia on the other hand is a low end 3rd liner, he is not very good but will get overpaid based on his playoff performance.

From Bleacher report recent article on Beauvillier

"The left wing is well-rounded offensively. He's strong at creating zone entries, forechecking and cycling the puck. He's a shoot-first forward who can create trouble around the net front. Defensively, he's reliable and responsible, a requirement to survive in a Barry Trotz system. Because of that ability to drive play, Evolving-Hockey ranks his total output in the 87th percentile of all NHLers over the past three seasons". 87TH percentile but he's a middle 6 winger tears of joy

What you and many other habs fans don't understand is that the isles have no interest in trading Beauvillier and they don't want futures. When you don't want to give up a cost controlled top 6 forward, the other team has to overpay to make it worth it. Fair value does not get Beauvillier. The isles don't want the Habs 1st rd picks and B, C prospects. I didn't know it was the isles obligation to help the Habs meet their quota for French Canadien players.

What’s funny is how because Beauvillier’s name was mentioned in the same tweet as the Habs, there have been posts all day about him going there. But then when you say you want Caufield y’all are like like Beauvillier is an okay middle six winger so like which is it? Gotta pick an angle.

LMAO, why do you keep trying to make comparisons for players who are at opposite ends of the talent pool. Beauvillier doesn't have Kotkaniemi's talent and doesn't play the same position. KK at 20 is a top 6 center and had potential to be a 1A/1B center. Beauvillier is 4 years older and has hit his ceiling of a middle 6 winger. You are lucky I see the potential inBeauvillier and think he is worth Norlinder + Poehling + 1st that is more than most middle six wingers will ever get. And now that I have been thinking about it and reviewing stats I will adjust my assessment I think you would be lucky to get a 2nd for Beauvillier given his age, stats and contract status. The guy has hit his ceiling he isn't going to suddenly break out and put up 70 or 80 points or score 25+ goals.

No what's funny is someone ACTUALLY thinking a deal for Beauvillier starts with Suzuki, Caufield, Romanov or Kotkaniemi. That is like suggesting that Armia starts with Barzal or Dobson!

you are so full of sh*t - Kotkaniemi has not been a strong play driver so far in his NHL career and his pt totals have been mediocre. He is not a top 6 center right now and he likely tops out as a 2C. Montreal rushed him and stifled his development.

- Beauvillier was on pace for 26 goals this season and I just proved to you that Beauvilliers overall impact is better than 87% of NHLers over the last 3 seasons. Do the math you mental midget. He had 35 points in his last 44 games of the season (65 pt pace) in Trotz system

Armia is a bottom 6 winger. I know you didn't include that scrub Romanov in there...the great thing is the habs aren't getting Beauvillier. It's also going to be great when your best center walks in free agency . Have fun missing the playoffs next season tears of joy
