I think the Predators might have to add compensation to get Seattle to take Johansen. It's a high risk to take on his 4 years assuming he returns to form, but a change of scenery is probably what he needs.

If NSH is serious about rebuilding, having Samberg (22), Farrance (22), Fabbro (23), Carrier (24), Myers (24) could be a fantastic blueline in a few years. And both Samberg + Vesalainen have size and on ELC's. Young, cheap contracts, and size -- that's what it seems like Poile is after. Is he trying to cut costs after a covid season which hurt team revenue? Are they trying a youth retool/rebuild on the fly? Are they trying to just get out of some long-term deals? I wonder what else, if anything, Poile has up his sleeve this summer.



He's a weird case. His underlying numbers are still fantastic it's just that his offense has dried up the past two years -- I think a new team/system will do him some good. Of course there is risk there, but he's probably the best center option available to SEA. I don't think NSH would have add a ton for them to take him, but I could see them adding some if it comes to it. Though with Jarnkrok available, I feel like that's a really good option for SEA that they could potentially flip for a couple of picks at the deadline.

I think the Jets would be very interested in Ekholm, but they won't likely part with Samberg for him as a rental. I know you have Ekholm extended, but the Jets can just do that themselves and save the extra assets.
