"goalie heavy" means like drieger, kakkonen, vanicek, maybe desmith. Heck I would take a chance on Matt Murray before I took holtby. I'm sure they could retain a bit on murray and flip him to like the oilers or something

What a fan sees and what a GM sees are two different things in a team. There's been reported a decent amount of interest in Holtby. More if retained. But I wouldn't be shocked if he doesn't last in VAN before FA.


This build underpays McCabe and overpays Dickinson/ IMO the value of the guys should be almost inverssed... 2.75 or so for Jason, 3m or so for McCabe

Vancouver needs to stop giving third and fourth liners 3+ million. Learn the lesson! Dickinson is a fine player but don't give him that!

Holtby had 2 off years, but he has intangibles (cup winner) that would intrigue an expansion team. That, coupled with the fact that the canucks would be expected to offer additional compensation, and that there is only 1 year left on holtby’s deal are some of the factors as to where the interest lays. In short, there is more to gain from selecting holtby than most other goalies named. The Canucks lack depth for this expansion draft, that’s what will force a holtby selection

If they wan't "intangibales" like a cup winner why not draft Matt Murray. He's younger and probbaly has more value to other teams. He's also had two down years. Jst seems like the same situation as Holtby but murray is more valuable. If i'm Francias I talk Cole Lind from vancaouver. There are better goalies than holtby to take and better ways to use the cap space as well imo

Murray's contract is way worse. Holtby isn't on a risky contract.
