A top prospect, a good roster player and a 1st? I'm not sure what you're expecting, but it's not going to be a whole lot better than that.

Not realistic from Vancouver's perspective. Hoglander is on an ELC and Reinhart is due for a raise. Vancouver is in a cap crunch. This trade is neither realistic nor probable.

I would wager eichel gets one more pick, a 2nd rounder included, but that is pretty much what I have been AGM'ing him for.

Ristolainen should be a penguin. If Buf is willing to retain 50% on that it should happen. He'd be exactly what they are looking for on the blueline.
I don't get why BUF fans want to chase him out. I know his numbers suck. But hell, everyone goes to that team and stops trying. Just ask Hall.
It's not on him. Out side of BUF he probably looks like an all star.

That would be a no from Winnipeg. The Jets might take a chance on Ristolainen, but not if the asking price is crazy high.

Pretty much every Sabres fan on here has wanted him out for years. Risto is a classic example of why stats don't tell you everything about a player. Sure his advanced stats are nothing special, in fact they are pretty disappointing. But if you watch him play then you begin to realize he brings a lot of value to a team. He is an absolute beast in terms of strength and physicality. He has great hands and is a visionary passer. He is also a guy the team can rally around. I've been a long-time Risto supporter and have never wanted to trade him. However, I feel for the guy. He has spent his whole career playing for a team that has never sniffed the playoffs and not to mention he's been tasked with the hardest minutes on the worst team in the NHL. He wants to have a chance to win the Cup and that chance won't happen in Buffalo for at least another couple seasons. I still want Risto to be a Sabre but I realize that is me being selfish. For Risto's sake, I want him to get traded to a playoff team and watch him put up 50+ points and be an absolute beast in the postseason

The Sabres definitely wouldn’t add anything to this trade at the minimum.

Are Tage Thompson and a 4th much of anything anyway?

for sure... id say a cost-controlled hog is better than reinhart at any reasonable contract
