Créé par: Bufftard716
Équipe: 2021-22 Sabres de Buffalo
Date de création initiale: 18 juill. 2021
Publié: 18 juill. 2021
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
Going to have to settle for market prices in the form of young prospects, higher picks and shedding veteran talent, weaponizing cap space for players who might not see the ice and reclamation projects or change of scenery guys, Going to take Power and Eklund in 21 and hopefully get Bedard or Wright in the next two years
It's not pretty, but the time to act is now after 10 years of discord. Get guys who want to play here.

Yes, we would trade the eighth overall pick in this year's draft for the RFA rights to Sam Reinhart and the 25th overall selection. The rest of that trade is a bad joke.

That Eichel trade is one of the first that Ive seen that makes sense in terms of a value bet but Minnesota cant fit Eichel in 2022 without dumping one of Dumba or Fiala. One almost has to be included in the trade

Why? The original ask from Adams was 4 1st round equivalents. This is just very clearly more than that. Cap issues aside, this is too much. The market price is reportedly closer to 3 1sts now.

People have been making such a big deal over Borgen/Ristolainen. They are going to give Seattle something not to take him. Also, Ristolainen is apparently worth something according to Dreger (I believe), so it is only a smart business decision to protect a guy that can get you a prospect and picks (rather than give him up for nothing).

I think Dumba gets moved into a side deal to a contender

If Adams gives up picks (FOR A REBUILDING TEAM) to protect a D whose value is next to nothing among the analytics crowd, which I don't think he's as bad as his numbers say, he's should go back to accounting for Terry and Kim. Yes, there's a market, but what is that market for him? He's a UFA, diminished his value with his comments about not wanting play to in Buffalo or being "whatever" about it. I think Seattle takes the younger Borgen and passes on the $5M cap hit. Borgen isn't that important. Let them take him.

I'm a Kings guy, too. But you want to keep Quick for two more years when we're back to making the playoffs? It's a salary dump, hence the price. Klague is coming up so we can move Bjornfoot and Byfield is ready for the No. 2 spot. And behind him we have great center depth.

So if the Wild are contenders, how do they dump salary? You think Kiril wants Victor Rask feeding him sauce? Why do you think Kiril doesn't want to sign there?

Well the wild shouldn’t be going after Eichel to begin with, but if they do, they sure as hell aren’t paying more than 4 1sts in value. You’re literally coming back to the seller offering more than what they’re asking for, which is absurd and not how negotiations work.

Salary dump? Quick gets $3 million this year and then $2.5 million in his last year.

Clague hasn't shown that he can replace Bjornfot and that's why the Kings exposed him to Seattle.

#8 for Reinhart and #25 is fair. Adding Bjornfot is a huge overpay, let alone adding Vilardi.

That package is acceptable for five years of Jack Eichel, although I personally don't like the injury risk. Sam Reinhart isn't Jack Eichel. And what if Reinhart walks after one year? What are we left with? The guy we picked in the same slot as we picked Bjornfot two years ago, which is a loss, minus Vilardi and the guy we could have had at #8. No, thanks.

He definitely signs for a top six salary. Yes, he's no Eichel, but we're set at center. Vilardi won't be around when we're contenders. As far as Klague goes, Dewey had an aberration last year. His contract isn't going to age well.
As far as the picks go, the Sabres have a Pegula boner for Eklund, so if that's what they want let them. We can upgrade from Vilardi and Bjornfoot.

Because he wants more money. This isn't about him not wanting to sign long term. Also this leaks are coming from his agent who also created drama for leafs during mitch marner deal

Kaprizov wants to sign 3 years deal. Wild 8 but eventually they will have to meet in the middle. Kaprizov understand the cap will go up, and meaning more money for himself

There hasn't been anything said about him not wanting to re-sign in MN. The only thing has been said is he (mainly his agent) hasn't liked the offers MN has given him. Long term and not near enough money: $8.5m x 8. That is a poop-ton of money to me, but below what he'd get as a 28 yo UFA on the open market in a few years.

Detroit trade is ok value-wise, but I don't see it as much of a need, considering someone like Luke Glendening or Sam Gagne could be signed for cheaper, and provide similar services.
Could take it or leave it, honestly.
