2: Bergevin as something in head by doing this, i doubt that he will just let him walk

I can see Seattle doing this trade but not Montreal. They can't afford to retain for that long. Also the waive of the NMC was strictly just for the expansion draft, meaning he isn't waiving to be traded

My only real question would it not be automatic if available in expansion draft, and all ready auctioned off to the highest bidder, preferably in western Canada for an easier agreement with price to waive. Preferable the ask would be a lottery pick this year and also recent and future picks, in the hopes of building a nucleus coinciding with next three drafts and possibly something from last couple.

My premise was that Seattle picked price and flipped him to highest bidder, and my belief it should be automatic for the 17 million cost to Seattle. Draftpicks being gold for recent expansion.

If it’s instant, basically done on the whole idea of flipping, I could see him land somewhere like Edmonton for proximity to where he grew up and more visits to canucks, would be interesting what Vancouver would do if offered a retained price for a package that includes there young tender.
