While Ryan Ellis is still good, he's not the player he was a few or even a season ago. Maybe he'll return to form and be amazing. Maybe it was the correct time to move on. Myers isn't very good though - if it was Sanheim instead this is a slam dunk for Nashville. Patrick is tricky to evaluate, but I think with the upside and the Preds current situation, it's hard to drag them for this move. They're not winning *with* Ellis; might as well try to build something new.
