holl would be a smart choice

No point in getting Dvorak now that McCann fills that 3rd-line center position imo, as he mainly plays center. Leafs could sign a better winger hopefully without having to give up assets.

Man, I don't think Seattle's interested in Holl. Dermott is 24 and Holl is 29 - Dermott's got the higher potential to be better. I would prefer the Leafs keep Dermott, but I don't know that they pay the high price for Seattle to not pick him.

I cannot see TOR protecting Kerfoot.. they picked up McCann, so they need to shed some cap. I see them leaving Kerfoot exposed in hopes of losing that contract. I think they go Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, McCann, Spezza and Simmonds/Brooks.

leafs can shed his salary by trading him later and not losing him for nothing, Spezza doesnt need to be protected bc seattle knows what will happen if they pick him

So my thought is this? What about Rickard Rakell as a proper replacement to Hyman? 1 more year left on his deal. 3.8Mil against the cap. Plays great two way hockey and I believe is a great Penalty killer that this team needs? Maybe the Idea is to use Mccann as a 2nd Line winger to Tavares and Nylander and place Rakell with Matthews/Marner as a much cheaper alternative to Hyman instead of paying 6 Mil for Hyman you pay a fraction of the price with Rakell who was projected to get 50 pts last season but you could easily see that number rise if Rakell plays with Marner and Matthews and maybe Rakell can turn into a 30/30 Guy maybe?
Then with either Dermott or Holl chosen maybe Dermott? The Leafs will still have their top 4 of Muzzin, Holl, Rielly, And Brodie. Sandin gets a permanent top 6 role and maybe the Leafs bring in a Hakanpaa for 3rd Pair RHD because Chynowith is now our Defense Assistant Coach and might want him aboard? Then the goalie situation and our 3rd line situation becomes very interesting?
